Snowmies

Happy Thursday!
I wanted to stop in quick today and share with you a card that I have been working on.  With all the snow we have been getting lately, I've just really been in the winter mood and this was the perfect card to make.
This card turned out so cute!  I started with the Snowmies image from Whimsie Doodles.  I just purchased this image on their black friday sale and I absolutely love it!  I paper pieced the scarves together on the snowmen and colored in the rest of the elements with my colored pencils.  There is glossy accents added to the berries and all their buttons.

The next image I used was the background fence and tree image...unfortunately I don't remember where I got that image from...but I think it looks perfect behind the snowmen!  Colored in with my pencils as well :)

Then the clouds were a freebie image from Shelly's Images.  I cut out all the little snowflakes and stuck them around the snowman.

I'm really proud of this little winter scene that I've made :)  It's so fun finding images that can be used together!
The little rosette in the corner is made from a strip of paper that I punched using my MS Doily Lace edge punch.  I added a small snowflake button to the center and flagged the sentiment that came with the Snowmies image.

Once everything was put together, I added a bunch of white paint for snow detailing around the tree branches, the fence, and the ground and then covered it all with glitter.  Lots of fun sparkle on this card!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Butterfly Kisses

Happy Tuesday!
We're starting a new challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown after taking last week off for Thanksgiving!  This week we want to see lots of layers!!

Our fabulous sponsor is MyGrafico and they have provided our design team with some fabulous images to use.
Here is my card:
I made a card recently for a design team call using these pink and aqua colored papers and just loved they way they looked together, so I decided to make another one :)
The butterflies are from the Woodland Silhouettes bundle from MyGrafico.  They were so fun to cut out and add some paint and beads to!  I just loved they way they look lining the blue panel.

I've also used Butterfly Princess from Saturated Canary.  Colored her in with my colored pencils and did some dotting around her with my copics.  The butterflies in both the image and the sentiment are covered in glitter to give them some sparkle, as well as all the edges have been distressed :)

I hope you will join us this week for our fun layers challenge!  Be sure to visit the rest of the design team to see their fabulous creations!!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Snow Happy

Hello all and happy Monday!!
I hope everyone in the states had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend!  Even though we are in Canada, we were still able to have some friends over to enjoy a large ham dinner with us :)

So now it's time to start a new challenge at Digi Makeover and this week we want to see your Christmas/Holiday cards!  Nice and easy :)

Over the weekend we were delighted to finally see the snowflakes flying through the air!  I just love snow and I can't wait for it to really hit us :)  That put me in a snowman kind of mood so that's what I used on my card.
I used one of the snowmen from the Snow Happy set at Paper Makeup.  He was so cute, I had to use him :)  The snowflakes are little buttons that I have had forever!  I snipped off the button loop on the back and then covered them in glitter.

It's a very simple card, but I love all the snowflakes and blues.  It makes it really feel like winter :)

I hope you will stop by and play with us this week at Digi Makeover!  The only requirement is that you use a digi! Also be sure to stop by the rest of the makeup artists blogs as they have made some wonderful creations this week!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Fairytale Dreams

Happy Tuesday!
I hope you have had a fabulous day!  It felt so good for me to get back into my craft room with inspiration and determination!  The motivation has been lacking quite a bit lately and I've felt like what I've been making has been less than par...and it hasn't made me happy.  So it felt great to work up a card that I love and to be totally proud of it!
Isn't she a sweetie!?  I recently received this Snow White image from Krista at Saturated Canary as a prize and I just love her!  I again fussed with my colored pencils to get the coloring right, and while it's not perfect, I'm still happy with it :)
I broke down this weekend and bought some crochet lace ribbon...finally!  I'm so glad I did!  It adds so much elegance to this card and sort of softens it up.  Perfect addition!

Most of my day was spent learning how to make those roses though.  Since my cricut died, I haven't really been able to find a quick way to make roses and that has really bummed me out since I love making my own flowers.  I had bought a few flower punches so I could make cute little buds, but I wanted to make some larger roses as well.  So I found a 5 petal image on the internet and turned it into a die cut file for my Cameo.  Then I started with the punches for the centers and made each layer of the cut file slightly bigger in Silhouette Studio.  It took me a few tries to get the staggering correct, but once I worked it out, the results were perfect!

I took some of my Copic sketch markers-R81, R85, R27 and colored in the layers of the roses to give them a two-tone affect.  I just love doing that!  Probably one of my favorite ways to use the few copics that I have.
Then I cut out a leaf flourish to tuck behind the flowers and arranged everything together!
The last element I added was the handmade punched heart button attached to the sentiment.  Along with flowers, I love making my own buttons :)  I can make them in almost any shape and size that I want to!

Love love love this card!  I'm so happy with how it turned out and I hope that inspiration streak will continue as today was really fun :)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
    2 Sisters Challenge #118-Sketch

Must..Have..Chocolate..

Good morning everyone and welcome to a new challenge this week at Digi Makeover!!
Our challenge theme this week is All About Food!  Mmm...food...I love food.  Are you with me on that?
How about chocolate??  Right!?  Now that is my true weakness.  So when I found these images, I absolutely had to use them because they were perfect for me!
I'd probably be dead if I went 7 days without chocolate...it's almost an hourly thing for me.  Just a small piece, something to fill that craving.  But oh boy...I have to really practice self control on that stuff!  I could get into big trouble!  Don't ever let me go into a chocolate shop...Lol!

Anyhow, the images I used are Hershey and a sentiment from the So Sweet set from Paper Makeup.

I stuck with a brown theme since it was for chocolate, but I wanted my little monster to stand out a bit so i colored him blue.  I've been having a bit of trouble with my coloring lately.  I see so many images colored up so beautifully (even a monster), but I can never recreate it or even get close.  I'm sure a lot of it is because I'm using Crayola colored pencils, but I feel like I should be able to get close at least...practice practice practice I guess :)

Be sure to stop by, check out our challenge, and visit all the other wonderful creations from our Makeup Artists!
Thanks for visiting!!

For all that you do

 Happy Tuesday!
We start a new challenge this week at Tuesday Throwdown and our theme is Thankful for you!  I love sending thank you cards and I think everyone loves to receive thank you cards, so now is the perfect chance to make a few to have on hand :)

This week our fabulous sponsor is Heart Song Designs, who has graciously given the design team several images to use on our creations.  Their images are so adorable!  I loved using them :)
I chose the Love Birds image and colored it in with my colored pencils.  Then I cut around the heart shaped rose vines, and scallop cut the frame.  The rest of the card came together pretty easily since all the papers are from the same pack :)
I know it's not entirely fall themed, but it still gets the message across of being thankful :)

I hope you will join us this week!  The prize will be 3 digi's from Heart Song and you don't want to miss out on your chance to win them!  Also, be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations, they are fabulous!

Snowflakes

Good evening everyone :)
After cleaning the apartment today, I wasted took a lot of time and browsed around on the internet.  I looked at some of the blogs that I follow for inspiration.  I checked challenges.  I browsed Pinterest and explored the BodyRock website in hopes to find some motivation to start following their videos (soon :) )
Finally I just went back to my desk and stared at my supplies, willing something to form in my brain.  And form it did!  I don't normally do tags...they aren't my focus and I never know what to do with them once they are finished...but I really wanted to try.  And what better image to use than my beloved Saturated Canary?? :)
There is a good chance that I own 90% of the images available in her store :)  I sifted through them, trying to decide which image would work best on a tag, something general enough that it could be Christmas, but not too Christmas themed so it could be versatile...does that make sense?

So I chose Jules!  Just love this image with the cute little kitty tucked in her arms and that big swirly hair!  So adorable.
I dug into my stash and found this absolutely gorgeous snowflake paper that I have had for oh-so-long..I think I loved it so much I never wanted it to get used up :)
I decided to stick with a blue/white/silver theme with just a few touches of red to bring in some holiday spirit.  I found a few small scraps of glitter paper in the bottom of my cardstock folders and used those as backdrop panels.  The silver mesh I picked up at the dollar store the other day and I absolutely love it!  Took me a little bit to figure out how to adhere it to the tag...not used to using things that I can't put double sided tape on:)
I layered on top of the mesh a strip of swirly ribbon.

The snowflake frame is a gorgeous image I found online and I turned it into a cut file for my Cameo, and it cut out beautifully!!  I was so happy when it turned out.  I was a little afraid, there are some really tiny cuts in there, but they weren't a problem at all!  My skills with the Cameo are improving!! Yay :)
So I cut out the frame and added a dark blue oval behind it.  Then I covered the snowflakes in glossy accents and sprinkled some chunky glitter over top so they have sort of a frosty look.  It's hard to see in the pics, but looks really cool in person.

I colored Jules in with my colored pencils and added some red stickles to her spots and stripes.  Then I added a large bow and put a plastic snowflake in the middle (also a dollar store find!).

The final touch was punching the hole at the top, adding the ribbon and covering up the staple with another plastic snowflake.

I just love the way this tag turned out.  It's so sparkly and really has that snowy winter feel to it.  And it's just gorgeous :)

I'm entering this tag in the following challenges:
Alota Rubber Stamps #94-Blue and White
    Charisma Cardz #44-Feeling Blue

Fall Wedding

Happy Monday to everyone!
Wow...sorry it's been so quiet around here.  Haven't been having the greatest of weeks lately.
I'm finally moved back into my craft room and reorganized, which feels really good, but it's taking longer to get the inspiration flowing than I thought it would...

But I'm back again today to share with you our new challenge at Digi Makeover!  It's a photo inspiration challenge.  I never seem to do good with photo inspiration challenges...you would think that a photo would offer the most amount of inspiration and cause the ideas to fly...but it just doesn't seem to work that way with me.  But it's a gorgeous photo and I knew I could draw something from it, so I just sat and stared at it for awhile until something formed in my head :)
I love everything about weddings!  I would have a wedding every year if I could!  They are just so elegant, gorgeous, happy events and I just love that.
So I decided to stick with that theme instead of just pulling the colors from the photo.
When I first finished my card, I wasn't totally happy with it.  It's a bit...boring...and I didn't like the hard line of the two papers in the middle.  But now that I have slept on it and am seeing it with fresh eyes...I kind of like it :)  I love the soft background colors with the pop of green in the middle.  And the pearls give it that elegant edge.

I used a little cake image from the So Sweet set from Paper Makeup, and the congrats sentiment flag is from the Little Moments set.  I used my Cameo to cut out the scallop circle and the swirl and then finished it all off with some sparkly ribbon and a bow.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Come and Get it-Flourishes and Swirls
    Digi Design-Fall Colors

Thoughtfulness

Happy Monday!  I know I'm late again on my challenge post...after announcing the winner of my Crafter's Dream giveaway early this morning, I got to cleaning the kitchen (and I mean really cleaning...wowza...) I sort of forgot that it was Monday!  Lol...that ever happen to you?

Anyhow, this week at Digi Makeover we are challenging you to make a Thank You card or gift!  Perfect time of year for this challenge :)

This past weekend we were invited to have dinner with one of Matthew's co-workers and his wife.  We're still working on building friendships here in Montreal, so we were super excited to finally make this connection!  We had an absolutely fabulous time with them!  And while sitting in their cozy apartment, I couldn't help but be in awe at their bright blue and green walls.  So I used those colors as inspiration for my card today :)
Sorry for the bad picture...Not sure why it turned out so yellowish...I just couldn't get the light to bounce correctly last night...

So I cut the white overlay design with my Silhouette Cameo!  That took me a few tries.  At first it was too small so the paper just shredded through the cuts...so I made it bigger and then it cut off the page.  I was able to get the right size though and glued it all down onto an embossed piece of blue cardstock.

Then I cut the frames out and printed the sentiment.  The sentiment is a new one at Paper Makeup but I don't see it in the shop yet!  Check back later! :)

I cut out a large blue swirl flower, and then made 3 two-tone roses to decorate the lower corner.  Finished it off with a bow and 3 blue gemsr!  I'm pretty happy with this card.  I love the color combination and the simplicity of the whole thing.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Alota Rubber Stamps #94-Blue and White
    Bearly Mine #59-Flowers Galore
    Delicious Doodles #9-Embossing
My Heart Pieces-As Beautiful as a Ribbon

Snow Blower!

Happy Friday!
Is everyone ready for the weekend?  I know I am!!  It's going to be a good one...looking at a new apartment and hanging out with new friends!  Can't wait!!

I'm attempting to keep pushing through my Christmas cards.  It's hard when I don't get to work in my room with my normal set up.  I feel very flustered and lost when I look at all my stuff piled on the kitchen table in no particular order...but I'm trying :)

My world was also put into a tail spin when my cricut died last weekend.  Wasn't real sure what I was going to do, and that's when I realized I have the best husband in the world!  While I fretted over the cost of a new die cut machine, he dragged me out the door and bought me one!! :)  So we don't buy groceries for a few weeks...oh well!  At least I have a die cut machine!  Lol :)

So here is my first card using my brand new Silhouette Cameo!
Isn't she cute?? :)  I'm still learning how to tackle the Cameo...it's a process after I have been using the Cricut for so many years.  I got into such a routine between DesignStudio and Sure Cuts a Lot that I hardly had to think about what I was doing...it just happened.  But now, it's all new!  And a little scary...so I stuck with the freebie cuts to begin with for this card :)

The cutie in the image is Snow Blower from Saturated Canary.  Such a fun image and great for winter :)  I love the little elephant blowing the snow!

The card base, the scallop border, and the snowflakes are all die cuts from the Silhouette library.  The snowflakes had a little bit of a hard time cutting that small, but I trimmed them up a bit and added some glitter paint to the tips so it all worked out :)

The larger snowflake die cut under the image is the Memory Box Snowflake Corner.  Love that die cut!  Lots of sparkle on this card.  Snow has to sparkle!  But I love it...all of it!  And I'm excited to really dive into my Cameo goodness :)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
DigiStamps4Joy #54-Bingo...with a difference (G column-no twine, no scarecrow, Snowflakes!, no gems, no punches)
    Dilly Bean-Anything Girl
    Fab n Funky #145-Die Cuts

Cozy Chickadees

Happy Thursday everyone!
Crazy weeks it's been...I hope everyone on the east coast is safe and recovering!

Wanted to share a Christmas card with you today.  I'm slowly getting into the spirit...not really sure why it has been so hard for me this year.  I finally bought some bundles of Christmas paper and I think that is helping.  New paper always gets the mojo going right? :)
I love how this card turned out!  I used the super cute image Cozy Little Chickadees from Meljen's Designs.  Just love these little birdies!  Looking at this image takes me back when I was younger, my mom always had bird feeders around in the winter for the chickadees, and I would usually be the one to fill them.  Almost every time I went out there, I would put some bird seed in my hand and wait patiently for the chickadees to jump down and sit on my mittens and eat.  It's such a peaceful memory.
I took some scraps from my stash and paper pieced their little scarves to coordinate with my papers.
Then I used my Memory Box Snowflake Corner die cut, added some white paint and glitter to the snowflakes and tucked it behind the image.
I've added a little glossy accents to the heart and berries, and some paint/glitter to the little snow mounds on the branch.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
    A Gem of a Challenge #58-Polka Dots/Spots
    Crafty Ribbons #31-Christmas
    Divas by Design #59-Feeling Festive
    Meljen's Designs #134-Critters
    Nutcrafters #30-Ribbon and/or Twine
    Paper Crafting Journey-Ribbon or Twine
